Janene & Farid celebrated their engagement with a day grand enough to be the wedding day itself! The couple met in Jordan attending a wedding overseas, so clearly they both know what makes a good party. We took some of my favorite portraits I've ever captured at Chatham Manor, a day when there just happened to be a garden party with live jazz music to start our day off just right. The manor is located on the historic Fredericksburg Battlefield in Viriginia, with beautifully maintained gardens and gorgeous views overlooking the Rappahannock River. We caught the glow of the sun in these images, as well as the excitement these two have to celebrate their engagement with family and friends, some of whom traveled from afar.
I am very passionate about experiencing new and various traditions from different cultures, and this was the perfect night for just that at the Riverside Center ballroom. Take a look at the many images of this fun party below, showcasing a traditional tea ceremony, some plate smashing, chair dances, and Middle Eastern dance moves. The party lasted well into the night after I left, which was just after they cut the cake - a purple ombre design topped with roses. What you can't see is that the knife went through top to bottom, cutting every tier of that cake!! These photos will make you smile :)
